Mount Moon: Let’s All Go to Her Marmalade Workshop

Mount Moon - Let's all go to her marmalade workshop | Album Cover

Folk-glam rock band Mount Moon is creeping onto the music scene with its six-song album Let’s All Go to Her Marmalade Workshop with bongo and acoustic-laden goodness that will please fans who enjoy T. Rex, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Pixies, Animal Collective, and Simon & Garfunkel. Dan Scarpa sports guitar, Alex Drivanos mans percussion, John Gilmour renders bass, and Jenny Erwin rounds out the group with her breezy vocals, which are slightly reminiscent of Shara Worden, the brains of My Brightest Diamond. The album is a combination of gritty vocals, found in “Wolf’s Blood,” and a waltzing folk feel, which you can hear best in “The Forest.” My favorite track is easily “Islands,” since Erwin effortlessly shows her vocal range throughout.
